We also went to a temple on the hill where these monkeys reside. I was walking along and totally didn't see a monkey on the stone railing to my right. I turned, and saw it, instinctively froze, but before I could back away it hissed at me (they have fangs, just in case you didn't know) and it lunged at me, grabbed my arm and ran off. Scared the crap out of me. But, later on we got some apples from a vendor and the monkeys took them from our hands and would stare at us as they ate, no lunging at my throat once I was feeding them :o)

Safe!
Hello!
Just a quick little post for everyone who may have been watching the news, or read in the newspaper about the fire at a club here in Bangkok. Not to worry, I was at the beach.
Though in case you hadn't heard, a fire occured at a club on New Year's eve here in Bangkok, actually the club is only a few blocks over from Jennie's house where I'm staying. 60 people died in the accident. Just a moment for those who died, and for their families.

Christmas in Thailand!
Hello!
Christmas has come and gone here in Thailand.
The holiday seems to be more celebrated at the shopping centers, as you can see in the first photo. I was hoping to make cookies, only to discover that the oven here doesn't work. So! on Christmas morning we had cookie dough pancakes made out of the unbaked batter you see above.
I pilfered the family's wrapped christmas gifts, painted a tree on a piece of paper and stuck it to the back of a chair.
Yay!
Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays!
Hmmmm.... I wonder what New Year will be like....
